Silk for success

The Stung Treng Women’s Development Centre (SWDC) in remote Stung Treng province, northern Cambodia, guarantees employment opportunities for disadvantaged women.  It does this through providing 6 months of silk weaving training, with accommodation for the women and a nursery for their young children.  This NGO also provides social welfare support to the Stung Treng community, together with literacy classes, healthcare, food and educational opportunities. A separate project will see the establishment of another new childcare centre/kindergarten to take care of the small children of the women who are sole care providers who are employed by the NGO.
